Submitted by admin on Fri, 02/17/2012 - 15:29We, Body Bronzing by Barbara, claim to be Savannah's best spray tan salon, but the proof is in the work! One of our long-time clients has some 'proof' to share! Take a look:
"I have been a figure competitor and have used Body Bronzing by Barbara for competition tans. In total, 8 competition spray tans which always came out perfect! I have seen lots of other tanning products in my years of competing, but truly, I have not seen anything come out as well, and with such great color, as the spray tans done by Body Bronzing by Barbara. The tan is a crucial part to competing. It must be dark and even, without any spotting or streaks. Barbara's tans are a perfect color, without the orange tint and are always completely even. I also get spray tanned for special events when I would like my skin to look even. I will be using Body Bronzing by Barbara for my upcoming wedding, and I recommend her to all of my personal training clients who want a nice color. I definitely recommend Body Bronzing to other bodybuilding and figure competitors; you will be completely happy with her service and her products. You will have a perfect tan!"

Submitted by admin on Fri, 02/17/2012 - 15:28Hi, I’m Kim. I do all of the bookkeeping and some administrative tasks for Body Bronzing by Barbara. I am an Accountant by trade, but Body Bronzing by Barbara is my favorite (and only) accounting client right now. I have two children, ages 6 and 11 and a wonderful husband of 17 years. In addition to the bookkeeping and administrative tasks, I am a busy mom who shuttles kids to and from school and sports; volunteers at my church’s food pantry and bookstore; maintains a blog with weekly posts; and hosts a booth at a local resale furniture shop. Whew! Did I mention that I’m busy? I love it though, and I’m very happy doing it all! I just started my blog last Spring after I had many completed projects piling up and no one to share them with :) When my youngest child went to kindergarten last year, my creative side just woke up! I literally have NEVER been interested in crafts, sewing, painting or the like. But with a little time on my hands, I began to let my imagination go to work. I found that I LOVE to create things and decorate! So my journey began with taking some time for myself; exploring some new things, and discovering a new passion! This year, I have started another new venture. I am renting a booth at Two Women and A Warehouse in Pooler. I’m painting furniture, upcycling items, and revamping accessories to sell in my booth. It’s a lot of work! But even more FUN! Please stop by sometime and check it out. If you don’t have time to drive to Pooler, I’ll have items for sale at Body Bronzing from time to time. Some of you might remember my Halloween treat bags from last year. These were so much fun! I met several of you when I came in to work the desk last Spring. I’m sure I’ll be working this Spring too, when so many of you are ready to get your tans started early for St. Patty’s Day and Easter. Actually, many of you are keeping that “glow” all year round. Good for you! Everybody looks better with a little color on their skin : ) Before I say goodbye, I just have to gush a little about my mom… Isn’t she the best? She takes her tanning so seriously. She buys the BEST supplies; researches the latest techniques; and customizes her tans for each one of you individually. Now that’s customer service! I’d be impressed even if she wasn’t my mom, but I’m so lucky she is. She’s a wonderful example of what hard work and a great work ethic will do for a business. And we are so glad to have you as our loyal clients! We’re amazed by the way the business has grown by your recommendations. Thank you! Kim

Often, during Body Bronzing spray tan sessions, clients that also share my love of cooking ask for recipes. So, I’ve decided to share a few of my favorites here on my blog. With coaching from my daughter, Kim, I am learning to use Pinterest, so you can also find some of my favorite recipes there!
Happy Cooking!

Standing Rib Roast Recipe
(works for any size roast)
- Rub roast all over with olive oil
- Generously season roast (I use fresh chopped rosemary, onion and garlic powder, salt and pepper)
- Place in roasting pan coated with canola or canola/olive oil blend
- Bake in 375 degree oven for 1 hour (uncovered)
- Turn over OFF and leave the door SHUT-do NOT open (roast is slowly cooking)
- Turn oven back on to 350 degrees and roast for 45 minutes (uncovered) approximately 1 hour prior to serving
- Remove roast and let it rest before carving for 15-30 minutes (I tent it with foil so it won’t cool too much)
Carve and serve
I accompany the roast with popovers, roasted Brussels Sprouts and of course, homemade gravy from the roast drippings. This is the meal I prepare for my precious family and friends on Easter and Christmas!
Note: We usually eat around 6:00 pm, so I put the roast in around 12:30 or 1:00 pm, then start it back up again about 1 hour before we plan to eat. Unless you have 2 ovens, you have to bake other dishes in the AM then warm them later, although I have learned to have my popover batter ready as well as Brussels sprouts and bake them immediately after removing roast from the oven. While the roast is resting, the popovers and sprouts are cooking and I’m making the gravy on the stove top!
